We can provide a range of hearing/ear protection devices for a range of applications.
Earplugs for water
We offer two types of custom earplugs for water protection. The conventional method for making custom plugs is to take impressions of the ears, and these impressions are sent off to the laboratory for making of the plugs. A second appointment is scheduled in ten days to two weeks, for fitting of the plugs. This type of earplug is made from tough, flexible silicon-base material, and is very durable and long-lasting. We would normally recommend this type of plug for older children and adults, for longer term use. The second type we make onsite. Typically, we would see the client to take ear impressions, and then again in a day or two for fitting of the plugs. In this case the impressions themselves become the earplug - we trim and finish them onsite here. We recommend these for younger children because they will generally outgrow their plugs in around 18 months. This generally suits younger children as its often the case that plugs are needed for shorter term use - for example if the child has ventilation tubes (grommets) inserted and needs to keep the ear for bathing, showering and swimming while the tubes are still in place (this could be up to 18 months, depending on the type of tube inserted). |
Earplugs for noise.These are custom-made earplugs when you require protection from loud noise from either your work situation or leisure activities.
We can offer custom made silicon earplugs, which can be a very effective alterative to earmuffs in protecting against noise-induced hearing loss, whether it be in an industrial, home workshop or leisure setting. Two appointments are needed, one to take impressions, and a second about ten days later to check the fitting of the plugs. The low profile canal-tip versions of these silicon earplugs, can be comfortably worn at night for effective sound reduction while sleeping. |
